Team England win Dance World Cup 2013
Team England sponsored by Pineapple won Dance World Cup 2013 – this international dance competition attracted 2900 dancers from 26 Countries across the world – taking place in England for the very first time.
The dance competition was held at the Dome Theatre in Brighton, East Sussex.
Team England danced their way to victory, with Team Germany hot on their heels coming in second place and new to the competition Team Spain in third place.
The results were announced at the Gala on Saturday 6 July at the Dome by young film star Isabelle Allen, who recently finished playing the young Cossette in the West End Musical of Les Miserables, and who also stars in the award winning film in the same role. Isabelle presented the Dance World Cup trophy to Team Manager Jo Arnett on stage infront of a packed audience of dancers, teachers and their families from all over the world.
The dancers came from the best dance schools across England to form the winning Team! The Team included Rhys Yeomans, from Centre Pointe, Rhys played the leading role in Billy Elliott in the West End and then went on to SKY 1’s Got to Dance where he got through to the top ten finalists. Rhys won Gold in Boys Ballet solo aged 14-16 years and also took the Gold in Boys Modern Solo aged 14-16 years.
Dance World Cup 2014 will be held in Portugal, all gold medalists from Brighton are guaranteed a place in this exciting dance competition.
